AC forward curved centrifugal fans use impellers with blade tips angled in the direction of rotation, which creates a velocity multiplier effect — these fans can produce very high airflow rates at moderate static pressures relative to their physical size and motor power. Forward curved centrifugal fans are the preferred choice for HVAC air handling units, where large volume airflow is needed with moderate duct resistance, and for applications requiring compact dimensions relative to airflow output.
